What is a Trauma-Equipped Church?

Introducing the Trauma-Equipped Church. Church Coach Bob Ahrens' 20 years of trauma research and ministry development shows there is an underserved people group in every community across this country who deal with the effects of unresolved trauma on a daily basis. The Church is not prepared to take on the challenge of serving this people group due to a lack of training and a lack of cultural shift. We are here to help build Trauma Equipped Churches by providing training and cultural shift management tools.

We have developed a simple text-based training that informs you of how we see the three phases a church needs to go through to launch, manage, and grow a Trauma-Equipped ministry effectively. Once a church has a strong trauma-equipped ministry, it is our vision to grow the ministry by planting trauma-equipped mission points, microchurches, churches, or centers, depending on our level of people and resources. A key element in developing all of these ministries is the use of our IssueToAction web-based cultural transformation tool. This is free of charge and is at the root of all trauma-equipped team innovation, change, and improvement. Once all three ministries have matured, we will experience a fully trauma-equipped church collaborating with the community through Missional Ministry, replicating disciples who heal other disciples through Healing Discipleship, and then replicating trauma-equipped churches in strategic pockets of need.
